Ровно 89 лет назад Немецкие христиане, Deutsche Christen, победили на церковных выборах в Германии с явным перевесом в две трети голосов. Их победа над группой Евангелия и Церкви (Evangelium und Kirche) означала, что представители движения Немецких христиан займут важнейшие посты в новообразованной централизованной Немецкой евангелической церкви (Deutsche Evangelische Kirche, DEK, или Reich Church).

За день до церковных выборов состоялось радиобращение Гитлера, где он призвал голосовать за Немецких христиан, друзей и соратников по борьбе. Гитлер подчеркнул, что государство и церковь нуждаются во взаимной поддержке против большевизма и в деле создания единой церкви.

Немецкие христиане поддерживали нацистский тезис «позитивного христианства», отрицавший изначальную человеческую греховность, некоторые из них призывали удалить еврейский Ветхий Завет из Библии. Немецкие христиане постоянно напоминали прихожанам, что именно евреи распяли Иисуса Христа.

Exactly 89 years ago, the German Christians, Deutsche Christen, won the German church elections with a clear two-thirds majority. Their victory over the Gospel and Church group (Evangelium und Kirche) meant that representatives of the German Christians movement would hold the most important posts in the newly formed centralised German Evangelical Church (Deutsche Evangelische Kirche, DEK, or Reich Church).

The day before the church election, there was a radio address from Hitler, where he urged his friends and comrades-in-arms to vote for the German Christians. Hitler stressed that the state and the church needed mutual support against Bolshevism and for a united church.

German Christians supported the Nazi thesis of "Positive Christianity", which denied original human sinfulness and some called for the removal of the Jewish Old Testament from the Bible. German Christians constantly reminded their congregation that it was the Jews who crucified Jesus Christ.
